Drop In Furniture One of the novel features of Quadbox is that box furniture items drop into ready made pockets within the chamber. This removes any requirement to cast-in fixings or to drill on site adding to the time savings available to users.

Duct Entries Duct entries are also simple to achieve using a standard hole saw mounted on a cordless drill. Network Overbuild The modular design of Quadbox makes it perfect for overbuilding on existing ducted networks. Existing cables can be managed through the chambers walls and duct entries can be cut in any location. Chambers can also be benched to avoid existing services.

Radbox™ for Civil Engineering Projects

For civil engineering projects where chamber sizes may vary considerably, Radbox offers a versatile range of standard structural panels and corner sections, which offer the user almost limitless chamber size options.

The system also features flat pack delivery to site and a smooth internal wall.

Radbox Sizes

Due to its unique panel and corner design, Radbox is available in almost any clear opening dimension between 450mm and 4000mm and can be prepared in multi-chamber formats. Panels are available in 150mm and 500mm deep sections.

Furniture

Manhole steps, cable bearers, brackets and other chamber furniture are easily accommodated within the Radbox design and can be factory fitted as an option.

Product Features

Covers are manufactured in galvanised steel, are factory filled with reinforced high strength concrete and badged to customer requirements. The covers are designed with manual handling regulations in mind featuring tapered sides and centralised lifting keyholes. All steel is hot dip galvanised to EN1461 to offer a life span often in excess of 30 years.

These features allow covers to be safely removed by one person using the correct lifting key. Cover sizes are designed to ensure maximum safe lifting weights and multi-cover sets include removable cross members to allow covers to be removed in any direction.

All covers display the British Standards Kitemark certifying them to Class B125 of BS EN124: 1994. The covers are suitable for use in footpaths, car parks, grass verges and areas with slow moving traffic including HGVs. Product Features

Salmor Industries manufacture a high quality range of recessed covers to cover openings in landscaped areas. The covers present a minimum of exposed metal thereby masking the presence of manhole covers and allowing paving patterns to be continued over the access point.

Salmor covers are suitable for internal and external use and come in a standard range of sizes and depths which can accommodate paving thickness from 50 - 80mm.

BT Approved

BT badged units are manufactured in accordance with BT specification LN593 and are kitemarked to Class B125 of EN124:1994. The covers are 75mm deep as standard and are fabricated in 6mm steel. BT units also incorporate a slide-out feature for single person operation. Specifiers should take care to ensure that approved suppliers are properly specified on bills of quantity.

Infill Materials

Because the covers are tested unfilled, they can be filled with any chosen landscaping material including paving bricks, cobbles, natural stone slabs, tactile paving, tarmac or even grass.

Quality

Salmor Industries operates a quality management system which is accredited by BSI to BS EN ISO 9002. All components are hot dip galvanised to BS EN 1461:1999 after manufacture to ensure a minimum life of 40 years.

Lockable Footway Covers

This system is suitable to deter acts of vandalism and consists of a spring loaded captive bolt which is fitted through a steel collar cast into the cover. The M10 security bolt, which is produced from stainless steel, has a specially machined head which can only be opened with a matching key.

A stainless steel turnbuckle attached to the bolt and fitted under the cover is then swung under the frame to secure the cover in position. The mechanism is spring loaded to maintain tension on the lock arrangement.

The whole locking arrangement is protected from the ingress of dirt etc by a removable plastic cap.

Secondary Security Covers

This award winning design was developed to provide enhanced network security protection from vandals and criminals.

The system consists of three folded steel plates which are supported on steel angles bolted to the ends of the chamber and secured in place by means of a locking bar and padlock. The padlock is itself protected from attack by a further steel plate.

Speed of installation is just one of the major advantages of the Salmor Security System. With only eight holes to be drilled on site, the chamber can be opened, the system fitted and the access covers replaced within twenty minutes.

The system has been independently tested to the guidelines of a recognised loss prevention standard and has resisted prolonged attack using heavy hand tools for a period in excess twenty minutes. The system has also been successfully fire tested.
